Joseph Pearson, MD

President

Born in Oklahoma, he moved to South Louisiana in the early 1980’s with his father who has always worked in the oil field. While attending the University of Louisiana between 1992-1996, he spent his summers in pipe yards and served as student body President for the College of Science. Dr. Pearson obtained his medical degree from LSU Health Science Center in 2000, completed his residency training at LSU, and became Board Certified in Emergency Medicine in 2004. Since that time, Dr. Pearson has worked, and continues to work, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center where he has served as the director of Emergency Medical Services. He Co-founded XstremeMD in 2009 where he now serves as its President. Dr. Pearson states, “Taking care of people has always been my passion. The oil field has, and will always be in my blood. Forming XstremeMD and taking care of these guys on location has been both a blessing and a dream come true.”

Louis Corne, MD

Vice President

Dr. Louis Corne was born and raised in southern Louisiana.  He attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana and graduated in 1994 in Biology and Chemistry.  He received his M.D. from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated AOA in 1998.  He then completed general surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center / Parkland Hospital in 2003.  He has been in private practice since with experience in general surgery, trauma surgery, burn surgery, minimally invasive surgery and Da Vinci Robotic procedures.  Dr. Corne actively works with technology in medicine and currently does consulting for medical application development, electronic health record development and implementation and best practice use of information technology in medicine.  Dr. Corne currently serves as the network administrator, database compliance officer and continues research and development for current and future XstremeMD services.

Michael Odinet, MD

Vice President

Dr. Odinet was born and raised in Arabi La. He attended Louisiana State University where he was a member of the football team and graduated with a BS in Microbiology. Dr. Odinet then attended medical school at LSUHSC in New Orleans, graduating in 2002. Odinet completed four years of Emergency Medicine residency training at Charity Hospital in New Orleans where he served as chief resident in his last year. During that time Dr. Odinet coordinated all resident duties and schedules during hurricane Katrina and spent 6 days in the hospital caring for patients with minimal resources and no power. After evacuation, he led efforts to perform search and rescue for trapped citizens in their homes. Coordinating with the military, he then set up mobile medical units throughout the city to care for patients 24 hours a day until all rescue efforts were completed. Dr. Odinet eventually established a temporary hospital while revisions could be made to the LSU interim hospital that is being used today. After completion of his training, Dr. Odinet was offered a full time academic faculty position at LSU. He accepted this while also pursuing medicine in the private practice which brought him to Lafayette in 2006. Dr. Odinet has served on the Medical Executive Committee for the last 3 years at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital.

Scott Thompson, MD

Scott Thompson, MD began working at XstremeMD in February 2011. Prior to joining XstremeMD, Dr Thompson worked in the emergency department at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center from 1993 to 2011. Prior to joining Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center Dr Thompson had a thriving private practice, Internal Medicine from 1987-1993. Dr Thompson is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. He also holds other certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support & Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Dr Thompson graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry. He was accepted to medical school at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans. After completing medical school at LSU-New Orleans, Dr Thompson completed his internship and residency at the University of Arkansas. While at the University of Arkansas he was selected twice as one of Five Outstanding Residents. In addition he has also served as a clinical instructor in medicine at LSU Medical Center.

Charles Pearson, MD

Dr. Charlie Pearson grew up in Lake Arthur, LA and graduated from Lake Arthur High School in 1961 as Valedictorian of his graduating class. He attended ULL from 1961-1963 in the Pre-Pharmacy curriculum. He then attended Pharmacy schools at both Loyola University in New Orleans and University of Florida in Gainesville. He received his B.S. in Pharmacy degree in 1966 from the University of Florida. He then attended graduate school at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and received the M.S. in Pharmacy and Pharmacology in 1969. Following this he attended Medical School at LSUHSC in New Orleans and graduated with a M.D. degree in 1973. He did residency training in Internal Medicine with LSUHSC Dept. of Medicine and completed residency in 1976. He served as Chief Medical Resident during his last year of residency. He then began private practice of Internal Medicine from 1976-1990. He joined Acute Care Physicians Emergency Medical Group at LGMC in the practice of full-time Emergency Medicine in 1990. He completed Board Certification in Emergency Medicine in 2001. He later joined the Medical Staff at Sabine Medical Center where he was Medical Director of the Emergency Dept. from 2001 to 2014. He is a certified instructor in ACLS and PALS. He joined the team at XstremeMD in July 2015.

XstremeMDtm employs several other specialist physicians in the fields of Cardiology, plastic and reconstructive hand surgery, and Neurology. The rest of our staff includes nurses, dietitians, and medics.
